New Training Curriculum Helps Users Maximize Analytics for Faster Fact-Finding and Cost Savings
Press release

Washington, D.C., Aug. 31, 2015 — FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN), the global business advisory firm dedicated to helping organizations protect and enhance their enterprise value, today announced that its FTI Technology segment has launched a new certification program for users of its award-winning Ringtail® e-discovery software. The online training courses, accessible on-demand, enable e-discovery professionals at corporations, law firms and government agencies to develop or refine their skills across a number of best practices, including advanced workflow and analytics to accelerate legal review.

Analytics are used throughout more of the e-discovery process and result in greater cost-savings, according to a recent study of corporate e-discovery professionals*. The new Ringtail training and certification program helps legal reviewers, administrators and case managers better understand when and how to apply analytics for faster fact-finding, case strategy development and reducing e-discovery costs.

“E-discovery professionals are transitioning from linear review to using advanced analytics, which provides a whole host of advantages,” said JR Jenkins, Senior Director in the Technology segment of FTI Consulting. “Our new Ringtail training and certification program builds on this trend by teaching users how to confidently apply analytics workflows and visual document review to matters of any size.”

The Ringtail training and certification program is available in four tracks. Users can choose to be certified for one or all of the tracks. The tracks include:

  • Reviewer I: Explores document review and coding workflows, utilizing analytics and linear review strategies in tandem. These courses are complimentary and available today: Ringtail training videos.
  • Reviewer II: Building from the review and coding techniques covered in the Reviewer I training, these courses cover more advanced document search and analysis methods, as well as case preparation.
  • Case Manager: Covers optimizing cases for review teams, review setup, review management and reporting.
  • Ringtail Administrator: Includes case creation and setup, group setup and management, as well as importing and organizing data.

All of the training sessions are interactive, closed-captioned for the hearing impaired and include exercises to strengthen skills. Those who choose to register for a certification exam will be given access to additional Ringtail reference materials and will be enrolled in the Ringtail User Group Webinar series, which features sessions on advanced topics, such as audio e-discovery, modernizing keyword search and predictive coding. Experienced Ringtail users and administrators may take certification exams without participating in the training courses.

The Ringtail e-discovery platform supports law firms and corporate legal teams of all sizes that are tasked with managing the complexity and scope of today’s global e-discovery. A full-featured platform, Ringtail software processes and culls data, provides a broad range of tools for quick data review and coding and gives users a comprehensive set of redaction and production tools. Ringtail also features patented visual analytics, concept clustering, predictive coding and advanced workflows. Ringtail is available on-premise, on-demand or in a Software as a Service (“SaaS”) deployment model.
