Washington, D.C., Jan. 18, 2017 — FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced the Company’s Technology segment continues to expand its Information Governance & Compliance Services ("IG&CS") practice with the appointment of, two new consultants. Bringing expertise from his previous role at IBM, Ted Barassi joins as a Managing Director in Washington, D.C. T. Sean Kelly, most recently of Johnson & Johnson’s e-discovery group, joins as a Senior Director in Philadelphia. Mr. Barassi and Mr. Kelly will help corporations address a wide variety of information governance challenges, from safely migrating to Microsoft 365 to implementing new legal hold systems and remediating old data archives.
Mr. Barassi, an attorney with extensive experience managing pretrial litigation and e-discovery as an in-house practitioner, has worked with email archiving and e-discovery technologies in various industries and geographies for more than 10 years. At FTI Consulting, he will drive strategy and information governance planning for clients facing a range of challenges, including civil litigation, civil compliance and regulatory response. During his time at IBM, Mr. Barassi worked with large, multinational corporations in highly regulated industries to provide consulting on information governance, including unstructured data archiving, e-discovery and data retention and disposition. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
Mr. Kelly brings more than a decade of experience in both legal technology and litigation support, and expertise in collection best practices, forensic technology, document review and production and e-discovery cost containment. At Johnson & Johnson, Mr. Kelly defined discovery solutions for evolving technologies including cloud-based repositories, dynamic social media platforms and the shifting landscape associated with cross-border transactions. He has managed projects of varying scope and size, including product liability litigation, internal and compliance investigations, complex commercial litigation and governmental agency inquiries. As part of FTI’s IG&CS team, he will advise clients on proactive strategies that expedite early case assessment, ensure budget efficiency and e-discovery defensibility and achieve strategic organizational communications for legal and compliance matters.
