We’ve got you covered! Throughout the kick-off, you’ll see this theme played out in a few different ways.

First, this year’s agenda focuses on WHY FTI. We’ve got you covered for:

  • Identifying problems that corporations face
  • Asking probing questions
  • Knowing our unique and competitive capabilities
  • Acting on next steps

You’ll be brought up to speed on our newest offerings: Cybersecurity, Contract Intelligence, GDPR, and Relativity and come away with fresh ideas on how to position FTI for Investigations, M&A, and Litigation. You’ll hear about recent successes and preview technology roadmaps from Ringtail and Radiance product owners, and be able to translate these updates to the needs of your clients. We’ll share Technology’s 2018 strategy and focus, demonstrate how marketing can support your pursuits, and ensure you’re set up for a successful year.

We’ve got you covered in other ways too!

Read on for suggestions on what to bring and wear for our evening activities, as well as how you can start prepping for SKO Games. Also, please register to let us know your shirt size and favorite cover song.

Suggested Attire

Clothing suggestions, in general:

  • A jacket or sweater for evening activities would be good. Daytime high temperatures tend to be mostly in the lower 60s f (15-17C) while overnight lows tend to average in the mid to upper 40s f (7-9C).
  • For sessions during the day, business casual is just fine. Some find hotel ballrooms to be universally chilly, so plan ahead, and bring light layers.
  • New Orleans is a very walkable city with lots of cobble stoned streets. Ladies, think twice before packing heels.

Tuesday night – Welcome Reception
Business casual. This is about saying hello to old friends, and starting things off right. We want you to be comfortable. We’re officially not going anywhere today—staying at the lobby level restaurant for New Orleans-styled apps and drinks from 7-9pm.

Wednesday night – Mardi Gras World Team Competition
Evening spoiler alert: Our SKO teams will be each be designing/painting/constructing a mini-Mardi Gras float! Mardi Gras World will provide aprons BUT the paint WILL NOT WASH OUT OF YOUR CLOTHES. So, plan to wear something you wouldn’t mind getting a little paint splatter on. Same for your shoes. Leave your Ferragamo and Jimmy Choos at home.

Thursday night – Awards Dinner
The night we’ve been waiting for! The venue is a 3-block walk from our hotel so you’ll probably want a coat and walkable shoes. Even though the venue is gorgeous, the food delicious, and the jokes of our MCs hilarious, no need to dress this one all the way up. Think "night-out-in-nice-jeans."

2018 SKO Games

Oh, it’s on! Seven teams will compete for glory in this year’s games, earning points in the following events/categories:

  • Team Solidarity: Teams will be judged by level of effort, creativity, teamwork and spirit. Examples of this might include matching attire, flashmobs, signage, or synchronized cheers. Each day, the top 3 stand out teams will earn 25 points towards their overall team score.
  • Mini-float Building Contest: Each team will be supplied with a blank-canvased mini-float and paint. You will have 2 hours to decorate your float and teams will be judged on teamwork, interpretation of the theme, overall execution and creativity. Contraband decorations are encouraged. Mardi Gras World will not allow any decorations that puncture the floats because they are repainted and reused when we leave.
  • Social Media: 1 point earned for every text tweet. 1 point earned for every photo tweet. 5 points earned for an original photo tweet of anything on the FTI SKO NOLA icons list (to be provided closer to the event date). You must include #TeamColor and #SKOGames18 to get credit for your tweet.
  • Pub Trivia: 4 rounds, 5 questions each, 2 points earned for every correct answer.
  • Random Participation and Quizzes: You’ll have to wait and see. Participation for everything is strongly encouraged.
