FTI Consulting’s Technology Segment Adds Three Managing Directors in Switzerland

Press release

Zurich, 30 January 2023 — FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced that the firm’s Technology segment has appointed three Managing Directors in Switzerland. Eck Herych, Iliana Jaeger and Sacha Truffer bring decades of experience in investigations, digital forensics, compliance and data privacy to the firm, and will support practice growth and complex client engagements in the DACH region.

“Expanding into Switzerland was an important milestone in our strategic vision and our ability to meet growing and evolving client needs across Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa,” said Sophie Ross, Global Chief Executive Officer of FTI Technology. “Our new additions — Eck, Iliana and Sacha — bring a wealth of expertise in solving data-related challenges. They will be instrumental in supporting multinational clients facing complicated, high-stakes disputes, investigations, regulatory matters and other digital risk issues.”

Mr. Herych is a senior leader in risk, compliance, data privacy and information governance, with more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and other highly regulated industries. With his background in developing, executing and leading global compliance and data privacy programs as both a consultant and in-house leader, Mr. Herych advises clients on change management, project and program quality, compliance training, risk assessments, workflow improvements and expediting regulatory compliance across the spectrum of data and regulation. He has developed methodologies for enterprise-wide defensible records retention and disposition programs, served as a data protection officer for multiple organisations, and implemented GDPR compliance programs.

Prior to joining FTI Technology, Mr. Herych was Head, Life Sciences Switzerland for a Fortune 500 company, where he managed and expanded the Switzerland team, oversaw operational strategy, led compliance and served as the organisation’s data privacy officer in Switzerland, Germany and Poland. He has held numerous leadership roles at global corporations and consultancies, as well as research and faculty roles at healthcare and academic institutions.

Ms. Jaeger joins the team with a specialisation in forensic investigations and financial crime. She has more than 11 years of experience in managing high-profile matters covering regulatory and internal investigations and litigation, mainly relating to fraud and corruption such as Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”) matters; asset misappropriation; conflicts of interest; sanctions, market manipulation and money laundering. She regularly serves clients in the life sciences, industrial products, financial services and manufacturing industries.

Ms. Jaeger has served as a leader on domestic and international investigations and litigation in major locations around the world and supports the creation of methodologies that leverage technology throughout the investigation lifecycle. Prior to joining FTI Technology, Ms. Jaeger was Director, Disputes and Investigations, at Alvarez & Marsal in Switzerland. She has also held digital forensics and investigations roles at multiple Big Four firms.

Mr. Truffer brings more than 20 years of investigations and digital forensics expertise to his role at FTI Technology. He provides consulting and services within the framework of compliance and investigative projects, including domestic and international white-collar crime cases, corporate governance violations and the development of proactive, data-driven compliance programs. He has helped numerous clients in a range of industries implement and operate whistleblowing platforms and subsequent investigations into whistleblower claims. Mr. Truffer provides his clients with deep risk management experience, particularly across global enforcement under the FCPA and OFAC.

As a former public prosecutor at the Basel-Landschaft Special Investigation Magistrate’s Office, with a focus on white-collar crime, and due to investigative assignments in connection with the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority, Mr. Truffer also understands the requirements of Swiss authorities. In addition, Mr. Truffer has more than 10 years of experience in the insurance industry as the head of investigations of claims fraud and internal fraud for an international insurance company headquartered in Switzerland.

Prior to joining FTI Technology, Mr. Truffer was Director, Disputes and Investigations, at Alvarez & Marsal in Switzerland. He has also held digital forensics and investigatory roles within a Big Four firm.

“These hires are significant to the growth of the multidisciplinary expertise and capabilities needed to help our clients in Switzerland address digital risk,” added Jerry Lay, Senior Managing Director and FTI Technology’s Switzerland leader. “With the addition of Eck, Iliana and Sacha, we can better provide clients here and across Europe with innovative solutions to reduce risk, accelerate investigations and derive insights and opportunities from their data.”
