FTI Consulting’s Technology Segment Adds Blockchain Technology Expert as Managing Director in UK
London, 10 January 2023 — FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced that the firm’s Technology segment has appointed Sam Davies as a Managing Director in London, a hire that bolsters the ongoing global expansion of its Blockchain and Digital Assets practice.
Mr. Davies brings more than 15 years of experience in research and development, engineering and analytics in emerging technologies and complex infrastructure applications. He has extensive hands-on product development expertise in blockchain technology, software as a service (“SaaS”) and artificial intelligence. Mr. Davies has supported numerous Fortune 500 clients with identifying and building blockchain use cases for the manufacturing, technology, automotive and financial services industries.
“Clients are grappling with a range of questions and challenges as they consider how to move forward with their blockchain projects and investments,” said Steven S. McNew, a Senior Managing Director and Global Leader of Blockchain and Digital Assets at FTI Consulting. “They often need support understanding and navigating highly technical concepts to make strategic decisions and follow-through on implementation plans. Sam brings a wealth of technical and technology development expertise to our team, which will be integral to helping our clients ideate on blockchain opportunities and build the infrastructure needed to support them.”
Prior to joining FTI Technology, Mr. Davies was Director of Global Innovation for a Big Four consulting firm, serving as both the Global Product and Platform Lead and the UK Blockchain Lead. He was responsible for leading multiple product development teams in the successful design, development and delivery of blockchain-based SaaS platforms and supported clients across geographies and sectors in implementing blockchain technology.
Mr. Davies holds multiple patents in user interfaces for multimedia archives, audio analysis for sports events and emotion extraction from text. He has a distinguished academic background, with multiple master’s degrees in computer science and engineering from the University of Birmingham and the University of Leeds, and he is working towards a PhD in machine learning at the City University in London.

The appointment of Mr. Davies continues growth for FTI Consulting’s Blockchain and Digital Assets practice. Last year, Susana Esteban joined as a Managing Director in the UK and Jorge Carrasco joined as a Managing Director in Dubai to support practice growth across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Preston Fischer also joined as a Managing Director in the United States, focused on data innovation and digital risk management.
